The Squid Games is a grotesque game show where the extraordinary rich watch people play children games, making bets on who was likely to win (or at least not lose so soon). Players recruited have poor financial skills and are often trapped in crippling debt, and are made to play children games with their lives on the line. The last survivor gets a massive payout, effectively solving their financial problems.

You are a participant in the last edition of the games, unknowingly recruited into horrors you could never have dreamed of. Through some skill and considerably more luck you manage to win the games, and are offered the chance to be the "front man" or the organizer of the next batch of games. If you accept the post, you will receive significant financial rewards, however will be sworn to secrecy, and potentially also face death for any mistakes made. The organizers will not meddle with your life unless you attempt to report the existence of the games.

Beneficiaries may include but are not limited to: political appointees, descendants, and close relatives of the dictator.

In a truth and reconciliation commission, perpetrators of alleged crimes provide testimony in uncovering wrongdoing, apologize to victims, and may be required to provide reparations, as appropriate. In exchange, they can be granted amnesty from criminal prosecution if fully compliant with requirements set by the commission.

The truth pill is a technology that once consumed, will make the person speak only the truth. Truth here is according to the knowledge of the person, and they will not knowingly tell a lie. The pill brings no side effects and need only be taken once
